AI7 PICKS: 1ST WEEK OF AUDITIONS

Out of the two cities where American Idol went this week there are probably around 4 people who caught my attention with their singing talents but these are the two hopefuls who really stoodout for me.

PIA EASLEY

Got blown away by this black model/musician/back-up singer. She's stylish, she's cool and she has great talent! She's the best I've seen this season, so far. I'll definitely keep an eye on her. My other pick after the jump.

DREW POPPELREITER

Well I chose him coz he can definitely sing, not as good as Pia but he has great potential, more importantly, I think he's kinda hot! Farm boy is a bit of a turn on! Can't wait to see how far he'll go. lol!

WHO'D BE THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL?

I've been following this show ever since Fantasia's season coz that's the only time it was broadcasted locally here in third world Philippines and as always I'm really excited! I'm wishing they'll minimize the whole stupid auditions with all the crazy people trying out coz it's always been really boring for me and it's the 7th season! Think we already seen enough of it. Can't wait to see 'great' and 'sexy' talents, though! Local broadcast schedules after the jump.

American Idol airs in the PH at QTV every Wednesdays and Thursdays 6PM with a replay at 8PM and weekend replays every Saturdays and Sundays at 4PM.

BURO NORTH'S SURF SHOWER

Came across this really innovative piece of technology by Buro North. Basically, they had this idea of creating a handheld hot shower for surfers in response to the cold weather and the lack of beach showers when it was developed in winter 2003. More about the surf shower after the jump.

What's so cool about it is that it produces hot water from being charged by a vehicle cigarette lighter and a mobile phone charger in 30 seconds. Isn't that fantastic?

I'm not really a surfer but hell I wanna have one of this thing! Summer is almost here and I'm sure this will come handy after a long day at the beach before hitting some fancy restaurant for some snacks and all that stuff.

AUF WIEDERSEHEN

OH MY GOSH! This was probably the most shocking Project Runway auf wiedersehen-moment for me, so far, this season. It was a showdown between Rami, Christian and Kevin at the bottom three and I gotta agree Kevin had the weakest design this week, his model's general look didn't help either, but I wish he was given a second chance. Why did I say that? After the jump.

I wish he was given a second chance coz I honestly thought he's one of the designers to beat. His works were consistently awesome. He even won several challenges which includes an individual challenge, 2 group challenges, second in the men's wear challenge and if you ask me that's a pretty great record in just 7 episodes! Sadly, it wasn't enough to save him in the first challenge he blew.

Guess this is the perfect example of what Heidi meant by, 'One day you're in and the next day you're out.'

FENDI SPRING 2008 COLLECTION

I never was a Fendi fan but I thought her Spring 2008 Collection is one of the best. Generally, the only thing I kinda hate about it were the few black pieces with that weird vest or the ones with that shiny material, etc. It's something I never really see myself wearing but other than that, I'm gonna kill just to have the tops, the pants, the shoes and of course the bags especially by these 5 sets of pieces that I really had a hard time picking. These are my favorites but there were just so many awesome pieces to choose from! See the rest of my top 5 Fendi Spring 2008 picks after the jump.

BAD DAY FOR TK & RACHEL

WTF! How did TK & Rachel started the leg on top of the pack and ended up last? It was as if this week's episode of The Amazing Race was down to the final 3 already! They were just in it in the beginning and in the end of the episode, literally. More about this sick turn of events after the jump.

Luckily, they happened to screw up on the last non-elimination leg of the race. Next week would be intense with all the speed bump and stuff but I really hope they get to catch up with the rest of the teams despite trailing 3 hours behind.

They have to win it! Nick and Don should get kick next!

SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA - FANS VS FAVORITES

I had my own speculations who among the favorites, from past seasons of SURVIVOR, would come back to compete in SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA. Out of the 4, which I wrote from another blog, I got Ami Cusack right! More about the fans and the favorites after the jump.

I'm excited to see how this new installment's gonna unfold. Can't really say this set of favorites are a stellar choice for me coz I honestly think most of them are dumb stategists but I'm excited to see how long Amanda (China), Eliza (Vanuatu) and of course Ami (Vanuatu) will last coz they've been great players before.

As for the fans, we don't know much about them yet but that guy, Jason, kinda standout for me. Not because I know him personally but his profile said his was a nude model. Are we gonna see a straight Richard Hatch walking around naked on camp? That would be hot!

SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA premieres February 7, 2008.

A TWIST IN MY STORY

I've always wanted to have a Secondhand Serenade album. Too bad we don't really get to experience it here in third world Philippines. This is one of the reasons why I'm not completely against illegal music downloads. Coz if it weren't for that, I wouldn't have known about a lot of great artists and their works. John Vesely aka Secondhand Serenade is part of that. More about Second Serenade's upcoming album after the jump.

The new album 'A TWIST IN MY STORY' is a product of John's collaboration with two industry heavyweight producers, Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails, Angels & Airwaves) and Butch Walker (Fall Out Boy, The All-American Rejects), as well as venturing into "a whole bunch of different styles of songs."

"I kept a lot of those same things from the first album because the way I write didn’t change. It just became more complex. Some changes were necessary this time around because of the developments I’ve had as a person and as a performer."

Secondhand Serenade's sophomore album drops February 19, 2008.

TIWE BY LV ZHONGFANG

Less is more. Found this really modern watch by a Chinese designer named Lv Zhongfang. Seems like it doesn't have a lot of feature but I love its stylish minimal black look. More about this nice piece after the jump.

Apparently, it's an OLED watch and what's so amazing about it is that the white dots that we see moves randomly (like in the second picture) but if someone wants to know the time, a lil shake or slight hit on the glass surface will reconstitute the dots back into place. Really cool, huh!

It's not yet out in the market but I wonder how this thing's gonna cost?

FYI: Organic Light-Emitting Diodes (OLED), as compared to LED, uses plastic or organic materials which makes it more lighter, thinner and far more flexible. It has a brighter display yet consumes less power and have much larger fields of view (170 degrees) which enable comfortable viewing from almost any angle.
